The Calm Llama & Friends

Empowering families

Parenting support to help rebuild relationships and have a calm family

How can a Parent Coach support your family?

Are you a parent, carer or foster carer feeling lost in your child's tricky behaviours?

Has your child recently been diagnosed with a behavioural, developmental or mental health disorder and you are feeling uncertain?

Do you feel like you're parenting from different pages with your parenting partner or do you just feel overwhelmed with the tantrums and power struggles?

You are not alone!

Parenting can be one of the most enriching yet demanding aspects of our lives. We provide a confidential, non-judgmental, safe environment to share your parenting fears, celebrate your triumphs and to formulate practical strategies to calm the storm, that also complement your parenting values.

Hi, my name is Lisa and I am the face behind The Calm Llama and Friends.

With over 10 years' experience as an Australian Social Worker supporting parents/carers and their children to reach their goals, I have a wealth of experience in coaching parents and carers.

I created the Calm Llama and Friends out of a drive to create personalised support for families to help them restore their calm and grow in their parenting confidence.

  • What to expect during the parent coaching sessions?
Lisa will meet you in your home at a time that works for your family. The parent coaching sessions allow you to share your goals, fears and challenges all within a safe space during a dedicated time. The sessions are taken at your own pace and are driven by you the expert of your own family.
  • Who will be present during the parent coaching sessions?
It would be helpful if all parent, carers and adult household members are present at the coaching sessions so all perspectives can be shared and there is shared goal setting. Parent coaching can support communication, team work and family bonding.
  • What is the difference between counselling and parent coaching?
Counselling is the process of looking at the underlying reasons for someone's thoughts, feelings and actions. During parent coaching there may be times that we explore what has led to your current thoughts or relational patterns including parenting styles or beliefs. However parent coaching will support you to learn and grow in your parenting in the here and now and will provide you with practical strategies to reach your own identified goals.
  • NDIS Plans
If you self-manage your NDIS plan, you may be able to use your NDIS funding.
  • What Areas do we service?
The Calm Llama is a mobile service based in the beautiful suburb of Camden NSW. We service South Western Sydney, Penrith and Wollondilly Shire and beyond. Please reach out to confirm that we can service your area.
